Hi all,

Bob and I wanted to officially (if belatedly) thank you for all the time and creativity you put into making this birthday video for him.

Don't know if you heard how Bob saw it: I asked him to go with me to the Old Town School of Folk Music to see a new documentary on my friend Dennis Cahill. The screening, I said, was a one-time-only event. And friends Paddy Homan, Jimmy Keane and John Williams were going to be among others to play a little after the screening. I thought this was a sure-fire invitation.

But, first, Bob thought it would add too much activity to the day (we already had dinner plans at night). But, whew, he changed his mind. And off we went.

When we got to the Old Town School, there was a woman at a desk by the door who asked us if we had come for the "screening." Yup. So she told us where to go. When we got off the elevator, there was another woman who welcomed us and asked if he were here for the "movie." Yup.

So we entered a room (kind of a largish classroom) with light-blocking shades drawn, a big screen and projector set up, and about 8 chairs arranged for viewing. Two of the chairs had little signs on them: "Reserved for Bob" and "Reserved for Elaine".

We sat down right away and the movie began as did Bob's tear ducts. He really really loved all your messages and was so moved. We thought we'd share it with you so you can see your contribution and all the others. (Like Ben says in his video, though, you can just look for yours and move on, if you like! The entire video runs a bit long (at nearly an hour).

And heartfelt thanks again.

Love,
Bob and Elaine

Initially, under consideration for love objects were sheep, cows, and goats.
